COMMITTEE APPLICATIONS

Committee Applications

AIM's committees are the centerpieces of our association. Our talented active members organize professional, innovative and memorable events for the PPLE community.

Being a committee member opens doors to further AIM possibilities and the opportunity to be a part of an engaging and exciting PPLE community.

The deadline to apply for our committees is the 18th of September 2026.

Heading 2

 

Every committee consists of the following positions:

Chair

The chair is responsible for maintaining an overview of the whole committee and are the liaison between the committee and the board.

 

Secretary

The left hand of the chair, responsible for the administrative aspects of the committee; taking minutes during the meetings and managing internal communication through emails.

Treasurer

The one in charge of the money! You overview the committee's finances, ensuring your event sticks to and makes the most of its budget. 

External

You are responsible for establishing and maintaining communication and relationships with third parties relevant to your committee.

 

Marketing 

You are in charge of creating all promotion posts and getting people pumped for your events, so take all your creativity and come up with innovative designs!

​​Podcast Commissioner  

You are responsible for AIM‘s podcast "AIM for Change". You schedule and plan episodes, research interviewees, prepare questions and edit the final product. You also work with your committee to coordinate episodes and event themes to raise Awareness on topics of you and your committee’s choice.

This position is only part of the Awareness Committee.

 

Programme Officer  

You are responsible for researching and planning trip itineraries, including timings, points of interest, and meal breaks as well as preparing a detailed schedule with train and bus departure times, connections, and designated meeting points.

This position is part of the Travel Committee only.

Both are equally fun and equally important in fostering our widely know amazing AIM-community.

Party Committee

The Party Committee is all about bringing people together and making student life at PPLE unforgettable.

From legendary borrels and themed parties to exciting collaborations with other study programmes, this committee creates the moments that everyone looks forward to.

As a committee member, you will help organise some of the biggest social events of the year, while getting to know fellow PPLE students and building connections beyond the programme.

 

Whether you are the life of the party or enjoy planning events, this is the committee for you.

Connect Committee

Looking for a way to meet new people and make the most of your time at PPLE?

The Connect Committee creates fun, relaxed and inclusive events that bring students together and create opportunities to build meaningful connections.

 

Whether you’re competing in a scavenger hunt, relaxing at a picnic, getting competitive over board games or trying something completely new at a workshop, there’s always an opportunity to connect with your fellow PPLE students and make lasting memories together.

Sports Committee

The Sports Committee brings movement to the PPLE community, providing a space for students of all sporting backgrounds to get active, discover new sports and connect with others.

From energetic workouts and spin classes to tournaments and team challenges, the possibilities for having fun and getting involved are endless.

 

If you are passionate about sports, or simply want to try something new, the Sports committee is your place to shine.

Study Committees

Academic Committee

The Academic Committee provides a space for all kinds of talents to flourish and for new skills to develop.

 

This committee organises debate cups, office visits at companies, visits to international institutions in the Netherlands, as well as study sessions before exams.

The possibilities for fun academic events connecting PPLE’s academics with exciting opportunities and connecting with others are endless.

Joining the Academic Committee lets you broaden the PPLE curriculum with topics you are passionate about and satisfy your own curiosity

 

Highlights: Annual Drunk Debate, Study Sessions, Visit to the International Court of Justice in the Hague

Arts Committee

Want to let your creative side run wild?

The Arts Committee is all about exploring, creating, and enjoying art in all its forms.

Wether you're a seasoned artist or haven't picked up a paintbrush since primary school, everyone is welcome!

No artistic tal is required! Just bring your curiosity and creativity.

From trying out new art forms to enjoying creative events together, the Arts Committee is all about making art accessible, fun, and brining people together.

Awareness Committee

Is there an issue you’ve always wanted to raise awareness about but never had the platform to?

The Awareness Committee aims to spotlight activism, volunteer work and other impactful initiatives within and beyond the PPLE community by producing Podcast episodes and organising events connected to the theme of the Podcast episodes.

 

Highlight: Podcast (click and check it out), Write for Rights Event, Clothing Exchange

Travel Committee

The Travel Committee connects academics and adventures.

As a member of this committee, you will plan and execute trips to exciting international destinations.

It will be your job to plan visits to international institutions and cultural sites, coordinate itineraries, and provide fellow PPLE students with an unforgettable experience at the destination.

 

You will be bringing back AIM favourites, such as the weekend trip to Paris, while discovering exciting new destinations for the PPLE community to explore.

AIMWeek Committee

AIMweek is the welcoming week for first-year PPLE students, taking place during the last week of the summer holidays.

It is a great opportunity for new PPLE students to meet their fellow classmates and older students, explore Amsterdam, get to know university life, and bond before the academic year begins.

As the AIMweek Committee, you will be there throughout the week to bring the energy, help everything run smoothly, and make sure the new students have an amazing start to their PPLE journey.

 

From coming up with exciting activities and events, to organizing all the practical details, you will make sure every part of AIMweek is ready to go.

Freshmen Weekend Committee

Freshmen Weekend (FMW) kicks off the academic year by giving first-year students the chance to bond, have fun, and embrace the unexpected together.

With the destination and activities kept a secret, FMW offers a unique way to step outside their comfort zone and get to know each other.

As the FMW Committee, you are responsible for planning the weekend, organizing the logistics, and creating an exciting programme full of surprises.
